Energy efficiency metrics

Dear all

Apologies for the naive question.

Is the TDP the best way to compare the energy efficiency of an Intel Processor?

Are there better ways?

Thank you

D

Hello davoslamos,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand that you would like to know if there is a different way to compare the energy efficiency of an Intel Processor.

In this case, the Thermal Design Power (TDP) is the information that Intel provides related to the power, in watts, the processor dissipates when operating at Base Frequency with all cores active under an Intel-defined, high-complexity workload. If you are interested in getting additional information related to the CPU features, I recommend you to check the "Technical Resources: Intel® Core™ Processors" so you can review more details.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.
