Further installation of the Intel Management Engine is required

The device Manager says that this device requires further installation. Removed Intel Management Engine and put it again. But the picture is the same. What do I need to do to make this device work?

What is the processor model number?

What version of Windows 10? 1909?

What is the model number of your laptop or system/motherboard?

Is your bios updated?

Processor - Intel core i3-8350K

Windows - 1909

Motherboard - ASUS TUF B360M-Plus Gaming

I built the PC a month ago, so the BIOS is new

"I built the PC a month ago, so the BIOS is new" - not a great assumption. I would check for updates. Site shows update 2601 available.

How are you attempting to install this package? Are you running the executable or are you attempting to do this from Device Manager? Hint: All Intel package are designed to be installed from the executable, NOT from Device Manager.

I downloaded the driver from this site and installed it manually

"manually"? From executable or from Device Manager?

Ok, so, from Apps and Features, select to uninstall the currently installed version of the package.

Try the following:

  1. Uninstall the ME package.
  2. Install the latest Chipset Software package.
  3. Reboot.
  4. Install the latest ME package.

Ok, we are going to have to look a little deeper. Download and run the Intel System Support Utility for Windows. Upload the resulting report file using the paperclip icon below the response box.
