Heat problem with i7 860

Hi, I have problems with my CPU gets too hot. Like the topic says it's a i7 860. The fan is only in about 2200 RPM under full load, which I think sounds low. What is the max speed (RPM) on stock cooler for the i7 860?

As it is, so is idle temperature is around 40 celcius, and go up quickly when running prime95. For 30 seconds, it is easy reside in 85 celcius then I close the program because I am afraid that it will be damaged.

But I think if you buy a new CPU in order to meet the original frequency with original cooler in 100% load.

Core i7 have a MCU (memory controller unit) Integrated on chip.

pheraps this cause a little higher power dissipation.

imho better use a new big heatsink.

Not sure where you get the temperature info--I guess from BIOS, right? The temperature is the die temperature, not top case temperature, so 85 celcius is still acceptable...
