Help! How to get ECC error log of Xeon Ice Lake ?

I used Ice Lake processor(Intel® Xeon® Gold 6330) and GIGABYTE board to test DDR4 RDIMM.

I used IMCi_CHi_MCi_STATUS.vaild to check whethere there is an ecc error, and it is useful to locate right sock, ctrl and channel. Then I used retry_rd_err_log to decode DQ\ROW\COL, but retry_rd_err_log.vaild is always zero which means I can't decode more info.

I suceeded in decoding ECC errors for Skylake-SP (also Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor) by same way.  But it is invaild for Ice Lake, is there somthing I missed?

Btw, I set ERROR_CONTROL.bit1 for Skylake-SP to enable mode-1, but bit1 is readonly for Ice Lake. So I did nothing with ERROR_CONTROL register.

  • GIGABYTE MR92-FS0
  • Our company's RDIMMs, so the part number is secret
  • To develop program  for  testing D4 RDIMM

Hello Admin123,

Based on the information provided on this thread, we recommend that you contact your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Gigabyte, for further assistance. If Gigabyte suspects a processor issue, they have a path to escalate to Intel engineering for debugging.

I hope you find this information helpful. We will proceed to close this thread.

Hi IntelSupport,

Thanks for your reply.

Is it possible that there are some registers i haven't enabled , and it caused errors can't be logged to registers "retry_rd" ?

Or ICE LAKE needs new registers to decode ECC error info,  instand of registers "retry_rd" which are used by SKYLAKE-SP?

Best Regards
