This tower is almost 3yrs old. Never had any complaints till the motherboard crashed. I am a part-time gamer when able and would like to upgrade the mb if possible because the current one is retired/discontinued. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend checking the following website:
http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?ProcNbr=E6750
The above website has the list of Intel motherboards supporting the Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor E6750.
