How to find the best CPU available for my MB?

Hi al,

I have an ASUS MB (P5K) which supports an LGA 775 socket and has support for 45 nm multi core CPUs. When I bought it, I got a low end CPU to keep the costs down and now want to upgrade it. But I can't figure out how to search the Intel CPUs by any meaningful criteria.

Can anyone recommend an CPUs that might work for this mb or how I might be able to identify CPUs to purchase?

Firstly, go to Asus CPU Compatibility Site:

http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Look at the list of processors that should work with the board.

Then go to this link below to compare different CPU features:

http://ark.intel.com
