Hi, trying to install Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) version 6.5.1.321 on my Dell XPS 9370 with Win10 Home installed. All updates are done, latest bios. I receive the next message "Attempted to install on an unsupported platforn". How to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Hello ABAYO3,

Thank you for posting on the Intel communities.

What model of processor are you using? Did you check if the Intel® XTU works for your processor? Please check in the link below:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-?product=66427

NOTE: You can scroll down and check under the "valid for" product list.

If the processor is listed, download the software from the link provided and, before re-installing, please check under "Apps" in Windows* to see if XTU is found, if so, please remove it and then attempt the re-installation.

Hello ABAYO3,

Thank you for your response.

If that's the case then this could be the reason why you are unable to finish the installation, I would like to know why you're trying to get Intel® XTU, this is to see if we have a different utility that may help you achieve what you want to do with it.

Let me know please.

Hello David,

I had, an idea to undervolt my CPU, to increase a laptop battery time, reduce overheating, and probably avoid clock throttled, that happen some times .

I've removed an factory thermal past, and put a new one it helps a little bit.

It will be great ,If you know another way how to do it.

Thank you.

Hello ABAYO3,

Thank you for your response.

In this case, for undervolting we do not have a tool, at this point what I could recommend is to contact the system manufacturer to see if they have a tool to achieve this; although I would like to mention that changing the voltages of a processor is not recommended, this is because it would be operating the processor out of specifications and thus could reduce the life span of it or even void the warranty.

Check with the system manufacturer as well to make sure that the warranty will not be affected in case you decide to undervolt.
