I'm interested in purchasing a i7-4790k, but I'm uncertain if it will work on my Motherboard (Asus P8H77-M PRO).

The Asus website does not list it, but because the motherboard is somewhat old, I'm pretty sure the 4790k did not exist at the time, so maybe the list isn't updated. The socket matches, but I haven't found anyone who has paired these two components together.

Not only that, the processor must be socket AND BIOS compatible. Look on the asus site for a list of compatible processors.
