Intel implements RAID as a platform feature, not as a processor feature. This feature is known as Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST). It is implemented within the chipset (the PCH component) on the motherboard (though the processor assists in the operation of the feature). The Core i7-9700K processor is supported by motherboards that provide a 300 Series chipset: Z390, Z370, H370, B360 or H310.
Intel RST provides support for setting up a RAID array involving two or three M.2 NVMe SSDs and/or as many as six SATA drives (SSDs, HDDs and/or SSHDs). Note, however, that M.2 NVMe SSDs and SATA drives cannot both appear in a single array.
