Hello GreyMF,
Please compare http://ark.intel.com/products/52220/Intel-Core-i3-2310M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_10-GHz?q=%20i3%202310m Core i3 2310M with http://ark.intel.com/products/64896/Intel-Core-i5-3320M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_30-GHz?q=i5%203320m Core i5 3320M, they both are belonging to the different generations of Intel Core I series processors. So the answer is mostly negative! It is almost impossible to update your processor to Core i5 3320M, so never take adventure!
Best Regards,

Well, I know what you mean here. But the same socket does not mean your computer would satisfy the needs what a newer processor requires! So please stop doing that! It is impossible to upgrade from Core i3-2310M to Core i5-3320M. You could have a try, but EVERYTHING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

CPU-Z показывает что у меня Chipset HM76 ! как это может быть? на этом Chipset не может работать мой I3 2310m. А процессор I5 3320m может. Как так может быть? Может BIOS обновить?

Hello GreyMF,
Thank you for your feedback! (Just now I used Bing Translator to translate your words into English, wish that I won't get you wrong.)
It is a good news that your system is supported on Intel HM76 Chipset, in other words, the support of Core i5-3320M is possible! But would you please offer the information about your laptop computer, such as its Brand and Model number? Or you might contact the manufacturer of your laptop computer to get further information about the compatibility with Core i5-3320M, OK?
I just wish you good luck!
Best Wishes,
Aaron Janagewen

Модель моего ноутбука Medion Akoya P6638! Вот 2-а отчета относительно моего ноутбука! Один с помощью AIDA 64 Extreme второй с помощью CPU-Z!
http://ark.intel.com/products/64345/Intel-BD82HM76-PCH# @compatibility Mobile Intel® HM76 Express Chipset (Intel® BD82HM76 PCH) Specifications

Hello GreyMF,
Thank you for your feedback very much! I found few information on Medion Akoya P6638, especially from its official website, http://aldi.medion.com/ MEDION International. You can find its standard configuration from http://www.notebookinfo.de/notebooks/hersteller/medion/serien/medion-akoya-p6638/ Medion Akoya P6638 Notebooks: Hier finden Sie das richtige!, where its processor is just the same as yours, Core i3-2310M. It also mentions the support information of Ivy Bridge processor. You can also find the more desired information from http://aldi.medion.com/md99170/nord/ MEDION® AKOYA® P6638 (MD 99170), another configuration which is equipped with Core i3-3120M, which is the 3rd Gen. of Core I processors. In other words, you might possible upgrade your processor to Core i5-3320M. But replacing processor of a laptop computer is not an easy job, any wrong operation would damage your computer permanently! So EVERYTHING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
There is not too prominent differences between Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge, so the mobo manufacturers would find workarounds to provide up-ward and back-ward compatibilities support. In other words, the chipsets designed for Ivy Bridge might be worked around for the Sandy Bridge processors, such as yours.
I wish this reply could solve your problem.
Best wishes,
Aaron Janagewen

So I can safely buy a processor and a brother for his replacement? Everything should work fine?

Well, I do not put that guarantee, you'd better contact with the manufacturers of your laptop computer, MEDION, before this replacement. Because I have no idea whether this processor sits on the Socket 988B, or directly soldered onto the mobo, no ideas about the voltage range for the processors, no ideas about whether there is the proper firmware update for the Ivy Bridge processor and so many other questions. So I could not make that guarantee! If you could not get support from MEDION, the only way is just to have a try by luck, but it is dangerous. Or else just keep it the same without changing anything! EVERYTHING EVENTUALLY IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
