Hello,

i am setting up a new system with the 10th gen processors and I am having difficulties installing the intel drivers. Motherbooard is an Asus prime z490-a model. I  do have a support ticket with asus, The problem is every time I try to install the video. lan or sound driver I get the message that your processor is not supported. I download drivers off intel to get the latest but, I get the same message my processor is not supported. Any thoughts on this.

You need the latest drivers from Intel in order to work with Windows 10 2004.

Here is link to the latest driver package for Intel HD Graphics: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29674/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers. Note that, if you have an add-in (NVIDIA, AMD, etc.) graphics card installed, your BIOS will have, by default, disabled the Intel HD Graphics engine and you will not be able to install this package. If you want both graphics engines operating, you will need to change the BIOS Configuration to always enable the Intel HD Graphics engine (connecting a monitor to one of the motherboard connectors will help too). Note also that this driver package includes support for Intel HD Audio via the HDMI and/or DisplayPort connection(s).

Presuming that your motherboard has an Intel Gigabit Ethernet controller (PHY component) onboard, here is a link to the latest driver package: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Ethernet-Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10.

We cannot help you with a driver for any analog audio solution on the motherboard. These are supplied by 3rd parties, like RealTek (https://www.realtek.com/en/) and Creative Technologies (http://www.creative.com/).

Hope this helps,

Just thought of something: You may have to install the Intel Chipset Device Software (a.k.a. INF Update) package before these drivers. Intel does not seem to have the correct version on their site, so use the version on the Asus site.

That is the version i used. after installing that the system became unstable. not booting etc. I tried to look for the intel version but it was older than the one from asus.

Yea, and it doesn't support the Z490 chipset. I already sent a message to Intel regarding this newer version not being available in the Intel Download Center.

I have solved the problem this morning. It turns out that the media I was using for the install was a old version of windows 10. I recreated the install media from Microsoft's website and what do you know. everything worked.
