Hey there
I just bought the i7 10700kf processor with Gigabyte Z490 UD MoBo. I know now, that 490 MoBos don't support SSD NVMe 4th generation. But I saw in many sites, that 10th gen processors don't support NVMe 4.0, that will read as it would be 3.0. Is that true? Would be easy to get new MoBo, but the processor with the MoBo it's little bit expensive. I got Sabrent Rocket 1TB 4.0 and it appears as 3.0.
Can anyone tell me if it's true? Or just change my MoBo?
Thank
Greetings
spk

PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSDs should be backwards-compatible with PCIe Gen3 M.2 sockets (they just won't perform as well). There may be exceptions, but the fault should be almost exclusively with the drive and not with the board.
