I9 14900k MSI BSOD

This is not really a question but a type of workaround or fix. So this is what worked for me after changing the load line calibration mode and other various fixes like changing the power limits etc posted online: For anyone having random BSOD's or crashes with a 14th or 13th gen chip (i have an i9 14900k) and an MSI motherboard(in my case it's a Z790 tomohawk max) can disable intel turbo boost and Intel turbo boost 3.0 (Multicore enhancement for the asus bios) in the bios settings and this should fix the instability of your 14th and maybe 13th gen cpu's, not to mention the temperature of the cpu has also dropped a bit so it doesn't run as hot anymore. This is in no way a guaranteed fix but it's what worked for me so thought I would share with others who are having this problem as well.

Hello Bignoodle24,

Thank you for contributing to the Intel Communities. I appreciate you sharing the workaround or fix that was successful for you. I understand that you have implemented the recommended Intel settings for power voltage, and have disabled Turbo Boost and Turbo Boost 3.0 in the BIOS settings.

Our investigation suggests that updating to the latest microcode and reverting to "Intel default settings" should address the issue. Please contact your motherboard manufacturer's support for further assistance.

If the issue continues, we are offering a replacement. You can submit your request at Intel Support Tickets.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

I did update the bios to the latest version, it was the first thing I did trying to fix the instability issues.

Hello Bignoodle24,

I understand and have noted your situation. You mentioned that your system is functioning well after disabling Turbo Boost in the BIOS setup. Are there any current issues that we should be aware of?
