Inconsistent booting and ability to stay on

Hi,

Just built two towers, using 12400's on an Asus B660 mATX board. Both consistently start (fans), but there is inconsistent video/USB power output (front and back panel). When I tried to put windows media on them it got halfway through the final check twice, one time the tower completely crashed, and the other time it said there was an error and to redo the process, so it took me back to the install screen then crashed almost straight away. This seems like a processor issue to me, though I can't be completely sure so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

P.S. it took me about two hours to get them to stay on long enough to get as far as the windows install process.

Regards,

Swanny

One processor faulty is possible.  Two, on two different motherboards is unlikely.

Update your board's bios, install the chipset inf, and try again.  Also, state clearly your configuration, power supply, memory, etc.

It's two 12400's on the two of the same ASUS mATXB660s. It's 8*2 silicon power ddr4 at 2666mhz with two EVGA 450 bronze psus. the systems are identical.

kind regards,

Ben
