Intel 12th gen Hyper-V support Windows 11

I am thinking about buying a new laptop with 12th gen CPU and Windows 11. One main use will be running virtual testmachines using Hyper-V.

I heard about compatibility problems with Hyper-V if efficiency cores are enabled (system will not boot, virtual machines fail to start etc.).

Has this already been solved with Windows 11 or has Intel any suggested workarounds if the BIOS does not have an optional to disable efficiency cores?

Hello andrgin,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand that you have questions about the Hyper-V technology.

In order to better assist you, please provide the following:

1. Can you share a link to the article or website where you read about the issue with the Hyper-V technology?

2. Can you provide the exact brand and model name of the processor of the laptop that you want to buy?

3. Can you provide more details about how you are going to use the Hyper-V technology?

Hello andrgin,

Thanks for your patience. Based on the investigation, we have not seen any issue reports with virtualization or Hyper-V on our side. I would like to inform you that virtualization is available for the Intel® Core™ i7-1260P Processor.

However, I recommend checking with Microsoft to confirm if the Hyper-V feature is compatible with your processor and your laptop/motherboard since HyperV is a feature of the operating system.
