@Hi,

I want to know is there a method to disable or control the cache snooping on the intel Atom processor S1200 series. I want to control cache snooping between both cores and the data or instruction executed on each core are not shared. So is there a mechanism to achieve to control

cache snooping.

Hello mailto:amit.singh4@honeywell.com amit.singh4@honeywell.com,

Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.

In order to best assist you, I will need to know the exact model of the system where the processor is, this is so that we can have more information and provide you with the most accurate response, also, keep in mind that we ( Intel ® ) do not have such a tool, however, the manufacturer of your system may.

Hi,

We are using the Intel Centerton S1240 processor for our product and currently evaluating the processor form single core OS environment to multicore OS environment.

As the Centerton S1240 has both core having individual L2 cache of 512KB, so for my evaluation I want to measure the Snooping impact from one core to other in terms of execution performance and is there a way in software to control the snooping by processor by doing some register settings, as my current product may use each core and single processor without sharing the data or threads between the core.

Regards

Amit

Hello mailto:amit.singh4@honeywell.com amit.singh4@honeywell.com,

Thank you for your response.

I would like to know, what is the system that you have with that processor please. Are you developing your own product and adding this unit?

Let me know please.

Hi ,

We already have product for avionics cockpit with Touch Screen Controller with Atom Centerton S1200 processor, We are evaluating the multicore OS in avionics with this product and in reference to that

I need to about the cache snooping behavior for this processor and also how can I measure the cache snooping impact from one core to other and the possibility to control it through software register.

Please provide any possible links to user guide or application note you have I can refer to for the same.

Hello mailto:amit.singh4@honeywell.com amit.singh4@honeywell.com,

Thank you for your response.

In this case the best route would be to register in our resource & design center where you can find further documentation of the processors and information that may assist you with the integration and development, please refer to the link below:

You can also refer to the forums for developers in our Intel ® Developer Zone where you can post and get further information about this software needed:
