Intel Core 2 Duo Hardware Virtualization Locked OFF

Hi! ALL.

I recently thought of upgrading to a 64 bit OS. My processor does support 64 bit OS.

Here's the Spec. Intel Core2Duo E7400 2.80GHz.

I have the latest BIOS(i.e., 0601) updated from ASUS Website (Since I have a ASUS P5KPL-AM(PS)Motherboard)

Problem is. I wish to test the 64 bit OS before I install it.

I wish to have a dual bit of MS Windows XP SP3 X86 and MS Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate X64.

Everytime I try to test the 64 bit os with VIrtual Box/VmWare. It fails.

Googled info on this topic. Found out a software tool Securable can shed some light on it.

Looks like Hardware Virtualization is Locked OFF.

From what I read on the internet. THe Hardware Virtualization technology can be unlocked with a BIOS or there may be a setting within BIOS to unlock it.

Checked the security tab within BIOS to look for something that may relate to VT. But, Nothing there.

I need to know if Intel can provide a custom BIOS for the same which enables the VT or is there anything else i can do about it?

Here's the snapshot from SecurAble -

You need to know the Spec Code for your processor. Not all E7400 CPUs support VT-x. According to the info obtained from the link below, the processor spec code must be "SLGW3".
