Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 compatibility

Hi, I have the Intel motherboard D945GNT recently purchased to upgrade the processor in my computer Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400, however, could not have my computer turn on, we find out want the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 is compatible with my motherboard If not there is any BIOS update that I can do to work?

There wont be any new bios as the board has reached its EOIS.
