Intel E5630

We have an Intel E5630 that we have in a server. When we attempt to put a 32 bit linux OS on it, it only shows up with 3 cpu cores. I've found a document here:

http://www.diffen.com/difference/Special:Information/Intel_Xeon_E5630 http://www.diffen.com/difference/Special:Information/Intel_Xeon_E5630

It says plainly "32 Bit Operating Mode:No". So does the E5630 not support a 32 bit OS?

According to the following link this processor supports 64 bits:

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=47924&code=Intel%C2%AE+Xeon%C2%AE+Processor+E5630+(12M+Cache%2c+2.53+GHz%2c+5.86+GT/s+Intel%C2%AE+QPI) http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=47924&code=Intel%C2%AE+Xeon%C2%AE+Processor+E5630+(12M+Cache%2c+2.53+GHz%2c+5.86+GT/s+Intel%C2%AE+QPI)

Also I would suggest running the Intel(R) Processor Identification Utility to properly recognize the processor features:

You can download the Intel(R) Processor Identification Utility at:

http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/ http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/

If the Intel(R) Processor Identification Utility reports 64 bits Enabled supported, then there issue is somewhere else.

I understand it's a 64 bit processor. If you read my question I am asking only about putting a 32 bit OS on a server with this chip.
