hi
i think you should clear your cmos and start again
and when your at factory settings change the core ratio thats one of the main parts to overclocking
but dont over do it itz best to do small changes and check for stability using a sofware called prime95.
after making changes in cell menu people normally run prime95 for like 6 to 9 hours to make sure it is stable. and if it crashes clear cmos and start again.
and another thing be sure to have a good cpu cooler the original factory one aint cut out to take the heat from a overclocked cpu.
stay away from voltage for now just a hint.
i hope i helped
good day sir

what cooler do you have as you can reach 4.0ghz if you have a good one usually go for 200 blc feq and a ratio of like 20 for the multiplier try a voltage of 1.36825 or around there!

the voltage is what you realy need to watch out for thats why when you set the voltage go for 1.368 or higher when reaching 4ghz my core i7 870 is at 4.04ghz and has a voltage of 1.375 so you have to mess around with it first!
