Hi All,
I'm wanting to disable Intel Management Engine, but I'm curious what impacts this has.
(Security concerns, performance concerns, etc)
I'm using a 13th Gen Core I7
Anyone know of a document that has info on what all the Intel ME actually does? And impacts of having this disabled? Basically anything from the datasheet values that will change if I turn off Intel ME is what I would like to know.
Thanks!

Hi Guywhoneedshelp,
Thank you for creating a thread in Intel Communities.
Thank you for checking with us first on the repercussions of disabling the Intel Management Engine.
Please see the answers to your questions below:
1. what all the Intel ME actually does
You may refer to this published article, What is Intel® Management Engine?
2. And impacts of having this disabled?
Disabling the Intel Management Engine (IME) is a personal preference that is dependent on your specific needs and use case. Some users find remote management, hardware-level system monitoring, and security features useful in IM. If you're not using any of the features provided by IME, then disabling it could be a good option for you.
We hope that we have address your queries.

Hi Alfred,
Sorry about that - I didn't realize I received a response on this thread!
Can you please elaborate on the "hard-ware level system monitoring" and "security features" we will be missing out on if we disable?
Thanks,
Alex
