Intel® Processor Identification Utility for Windows*. Version 7.1.8 fails for Windows 11

Intel® Processor Identification Utility for Windows*. Version 7.1.8 fails due to incompatibility with Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection of its runtime loadable drivers.

 

Please, make it compatible.

Please, send this message to programming team directly, so they could repeat & test the failure.

 

Details:

 

  1. Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22621.3296] 
  2. Windows Security / Device Security / Core isolation: Memory integrity ON, Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection ON, Memory access protection ON, Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist ON  
  3. Can't repeat Windows Security error messages, but those were about two loadable drivers of IPIU: *drv.sys & *drv64.sys 
  4. Since, that is totally software problem, there is nothing to do with hardware, although:

  1. There are no visible errors during installation: the issue is about runtime failure of installed IPIU.
  2. There is nothing about hardware: it's about IPIU software incompatibility with Windows Security software (Hardware-enforced Stack Protection). Although, as detected by Intel® Driver & Support Assistant:

    12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1235U

    • Device Details
    • Manufacturer GenuineIntel
    • Description Intel64 Family 6 Model 154 Stepping 4
    • Architecture x64
    • # of Cores10
    • # of Threads12
    • Processor Base Frequency 1300 MHz
    • Current Voltage 8.
    • Level 2 Cache 6656 Kb
    • Level 3 Cache 12288 Kb
    • Processor Id 0x906A4
    • Availability Running at full power
  3. Can't repeat Windows Security error messages, but those were about two loadable drivers of IPIU: *drv.sys & *drv64.sys .

 

P.S. There is light hope for next scheduled Windows update at April, 9th. 

P.P.S. May those drivers be cpu-detection drivers, like cddrv.sys & cddrv64.sys ...
