Hi Guys,
Having some issues with XTU recently and any threads I found have not contained much if any useful information.
First of all the issues :
1) speed optimizer 2.0
The option for "speed optimizer 2.0" or automatic overlocking has been lost and is now stating "intel speed optimizer 2.0 not supported", we can also see there are no Values listed below like there used to be (see screenshot 1).
This option was available before and there have been no hardware changes within the system nor have there been any BIOS updates done and no changes within the BIOS itself.
I am still able to Manually overclock the system, this functionally works without any issues.
2) Monitoring View
The Monitoring shows incorrect values:
- Core Frequency is shown as maximum constantly instead of the real current frequency.
- Core utilisation is just plain wrong (random ?) even while playing city skylines/ beam NG or using P95, all the E&P cores apart from 0&1 show as 0-1% usage, cores 0&1 show a maximum of 32&26 %.
- Active core count Never passes 2 despite using programs or running games that should utilise all or at least more than 2 cores
- package temperatures once more seem to be just a completely random number
- Overall CPU utilisation never passes 4%
- Thermal Throttling / PMAX throttling / MBVR thermal throttling / Power limit throttling Never light up (this may be correct but I'm slightly sceptical regarding the lack of thermal throttling at over 100*C)
System Specifications :
- Windows 11 Pro BN:10.0.22631 (no available updates)
- Processor i5 13600KF (cooled with the MPG 360 Core Liquid)
- Motherboard MSI MPG Z690 Edge WIFI DDR4 (BIOS 1.90)
- RAM DDR4 8x4 Gskill Trident Z
- GPU 7900XTX Red Devil (showing as 4GB vram in XTU)
- XTU version 7.14.0.15
Thank you in advanced for any assistance.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We want to further check this for you but before we coordinate this with our team, please confirm the following details:
- Are there any other software open when you are using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility?
- When you hit the refresh button, are these incorrect values still present?
- Kindly also please run the Intel System Support Utility in your system send us the text file: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html

Hi Ramyer,
1) The only monitoring tool as such would be AMD Adrenaline, however this is a driver as well so I cant really tun it off.
I found an article stating the below may cause incorrect values, however I do not use either of those due to incompatibility with MSI.
- CPU-Z* version 2.0 and later
- Corsair iCUE*
Note: due to MSI/Windows/corsair fighting against each other over Lighting controls I use "Signal RGB" as replacement, this software also has monitoring tools which I do not use since its part of the paid service, however IXTU shows the same results whether this software has been switched on or not.
2) This has not resolved the issue.
3) Attached.
Thanks

Thank you for patiently waiting. We have some updates regarding your inquiry. Kindly please share and try the following details:
- What is the current version of the XTU? To identify you may go to System Information and look for XTU. You may also send a screenshot of the Intel XTU so we can confirm it's version
- Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the XTU Manually? If you have not, kindly please try the latest version which is 7.14.0.15 at this link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html
- Kindly please Reset bios to default and update the BIOS to the newest version located at this link: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-Z690-EDGE-WIFI-DDR4/support

Hey Ramyer,
Sorry for the late response I wanted to test about before getting back to you
1&2. current version is 7.14.0.15 has been reinstalled on multiple occasions including now after bios update.
3. Bios updated and reset back to default.
The Positives are the Speed optimiser is now working and the temperatures are now showing correctly within the monitoring view.
- Thermal Throttling / PMAX throttling / MBVR thermal throttling / Power limit throttling Never light up (this may be correct but I'm slightly sceptical regarding the lack of thermal throttling at over 100*C)
- package temperatures once more seem to be just a completely random number
However the Monitoring view still shows some incorrect values:
- Core Frequency is shown as maximum constantly instead of the real current frequency.
- Active core count Never passes 2 despite using programs or running games that should utilise all or at least more than 2 cores
- Overall CPU utilisation never passes 4%
The above values to be honest I could ignore however I really want to see the below values in order to optimise performance.
- Core utilisation is just plain wrong (random ?) even while playing city skylines/ beam NG or using P95, all the E&P cores apart from 0&1 show as 0-1% usage, cores 0&1 show a maximum of 32&26 %.
Thanks
