Intel XTU automatically changing OC on PC restart

Hello, I've been using Intel XTU to OC my 8700k for a few months now. For some reason, sometimes when i restart the computer my OC settings will change. I stable OC for me is 5.1GHz. Sometimes it'll bump it up to 5.3GHz or higher, making it almost impossible for me to even get into my PC because of BSOD errors. Does this happen to anyone else? If it has, what have you done to fix it?

RHers2, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

Just to let you know, altering clock frequency or voltage may damage or reduce the useful life of the Intel® processor and other system components and may reduce system stability and performance. Product warranties may not apply if the Intel® processor is operated beyond its specifications.

So, even though Intel® provides the tool, in this case, the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility to do overclocking, the overclocking process is actually not supported because of the reasons described above.

So, as an option for this scenario, you can always visit the overclockers forums where you might be able to get further assistance and suggestions for this topic, please use the links below to access them:
