Hell0, when I try t0 change the 0rder 0f the settings that appear in the system table at the right-hand panel s0 that they mach the 0rder under advanced tuning secti0n and then cl0se the application i.e. exiting frm the system tray, up0n restarting XTU the 0rder 0f the table is re-arranged t the default 0ne which is a mess.

I tried creating separate pr0file but it d0esn;t wrk because it reprts that n0 changes have been made t the values 0n the left hand side upn trying to l0ad it. I dn't want t 0verclck 0r change any values - just t re-arrange the settings 0n the system table t much the 0rder that they appear under the advanced tuning secti0n.

Als0 smetimes the re-arrangement desn't w0rk up0n clicking the little arr0ws when pening the settings fr the system table list 0n the tp-right (n0t the main settings key icn).

XTUver: 7.13.1.5

Als0 I want t0 n0te that this issue didn't exist in 0lder versins pri0r t versin 7.*.*.*

(s0rry for spelling mistakes and many missing character "o" from many wrds - my keybard's letter/character "0" (n0t the numerical zero) is dying/almst dead :())

Als0 I tried t unselect all values fr0m the settings for the system table as a last res0rt in rder t try and f00l the pr0gram but upon restart it still loaded the default layout:

Hello n0b0dy0ne,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand that the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) is giving you a hard time when trying to change the tool settings.

Before I continue further, I would like to confirm the following:

1. What is the brand and model name of your motherboard?

2. What is the brand and model name of your processor?

3. What is the operating system installed as well as the version and build?

Hello n0b0dy0ne,

Thanks for the information provided. Some motherboards combined with an unlocked processor may be unable to restore profile settings after reboot. This is because the Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT Driver) is not present in Intel® XTU.

Intel® WDT Driver is responsible for the automatic Restore tuning after reboot settings. Under Intel® XTU System Information, find the Watchdog section and confirm Watchdog Present shows False. False means the Watchdog is not detected within the system, and the Intel® XTU user will have to manually restore settings/profiles after reboot.

You can visit the "How to Create, Save, and Load Profiles in the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU)" article to manually load profiles with desired tuning.

Let me know if you have any doubt.

Hello & thanks for the reply,

So I checked XTU under system info and indeed the Watchdog Present reports false and Failed False. I also read the recommended article about how to create save and restore profiles in XTU but the issue I have is that the created profile reports that there are no changes made because I have not made any changes under the advanced tuning section. Which is true because I don't want to make any changes. I only want to make the right hand system table entries to appear in the same order as they appear on the tuning section that is where the user actually performs the changes by inputting values and moving sliders. This re-arrangement upon exiting and reloading XTU is what bothers me. If this can be solved by installing/activating the WDT driver then please advice accordingly.

Thanks & Kind Regards

Hello n0b0dy0ne,

Thanks for the confirmation. I would like to investigate this behavior and to proceed I will need the report from the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU):

Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

Hello,

I am including the Intel(R) SystemSupportUtility Report as attachment. I am also including a report from a popular and favorite of mine, system information utility called HWINFO in case it may be of any additional help.

Thanks & Kind Regards

Hello,

I just wanted to add that this issue exists both under Windows 10 & Windows 11 (latest x64versions) on my hardware. Just upgraded to Windows 11 today and confirmed.

Thank You for your attention & Kind Regards.

Hello n0b0dy0ne,

Thanks for your patience. In this case, your issue with the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) is also affected by the Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT Driver) not being present in Intel® XTU and this behavior is expected if the feature shows false in the Intel® XTU.

I recommend you to get in contact with MSI to get more information about compatibility for this feature.

Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel.
