I feel the same.
For a latest gen dekstop cpu it severely underperforms in gaming.
I have supported intel for almost 30 years.
In the past 5 years I've had 3 systems starting from 11700k desktop, 13900h laptop and now the 265k desktop.
They have all kind of underperformed.
Now with the 265k, really giving me that buyers remorse when it comes to gaming performance for the games i need it the most.
I often play Star Citizen and I got this cpu for that and for some work as well. In space stations it wont even hit 60fps at 1440p with an rtx 5080 and 64gb dd5 6000mhz ram.
Which means the 265k is already outdated.
Any future game updates and the performance is gonna drop further.
While an AMD 9800x3d can reach 100+ in the exact same scenario and even the 7800 x3d does better hitting 85+ fps
Just imagine a latest setup cannot even reach the 60fps mark.
It seems like Intel doesn't have a team that does real world tests and is beyond out of touch with consumer needs.
I am seriously considering opting out of it in the future builds and I can imagine many others who have had even moderate expectations of performance parity now having buyers remorse.
In the Star Citizen circle maybe 5 out of 100 gamers discuss intel and even they may switch over to AMD because of Intel's negligence.
Intel may have caused a long term damage to their brand.

Hello @PainS
Thank you for posting here in our community. To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help us isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action.
- Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.
- Could you let me know the origin of the game? What specific game are you having a performance issue? Where did it come from, and where did you download it?
- What is your basis are you using a specific software to read the CPU performance?
- Kindly share some screenshots and recordings of your game settings so we can check the issue on our end using the same settings you use during gameplay.
I look forward to your response and am committed to resolving your issue promptly.
@APAne you can follow this thread since you have a similar concern, or you may create or submit a new ticket so we can further assist you.

Hello @PainS
I checked the SSU report and noticed you are using a third-party graphics card. Have you tried updating its drivers or updating the BIOS of the motherboard? Additionally, may I ask what troubleshooting steps you have tried so far? Have you set the dedicated graphics card for this game? Also, what are the monitor model and cable connections you are using in your setup?
You may try these steps: How To Set the Default GPU for Applications and Games

@APAne Low FPS in Star Citizen has been an issue with all sorts of hardware setups. There are multiple reasons, try searching online for 'Low FPS issues in Star Citizen'.
This is one potential solution, works for some people but maybe not for everyone.
Check in the NVIDIA Control Panel under Manage 3D Settings. You need the the Program Settings Tab, then Select a program to customize, Squadron 42 Star Citizen. Select Vertical Sync and ensure that it is set to Fast.

It has nothing to do with that.
Also I never use vertical sync.
Why lose more performance?
I am not new to gaming or building computers.
I have already checked with owners of 9800x3d, 7800 x3d and 5800x3d
then I've compared with the 13900, 14900, 265k and 285k
Only the 14900k and sometimes the 285k does mildly better than 5800x3d
All of them with close to similar setups with exact gpu and 64 gb ram on each of them
Intel loses out even to the lowest 5800x3d in cpu intensive games and especially in Star Citizen.
Even the 5800x3d is able to hit and exceed 60fps on the exact same locations on the exact same patch with exact game and driver settings.
And 5800x3d is quite outdated.
It's entirely Intel building blindly.

Maybe get the 9950x3d if you do work as well.
I am looking into that.
I know its a large enough financial loss for me to lose my entire intel setup and switch to another expensive AMD setup, but for me the time and the experience I can have in that window of time is more valuable.

I made mine a month ago and I'm already thinking of swapping it.
I'm waiting on someone to buy my intel setup off me if that even happens.

Hello @PainS
As per checking, the integrated graphics driver version is outdated for this processor 32.0.101.6314. We have version 32.0.101.6734 that you may try. If the issue still persists, let me know so we can coordinate this internally.
@APAne We value your feedback and are receptive to improving our service for a better user experience.
@pressed_for_time Thank you for the additional insights and recommendations. I appreciate it.
Warm regards,
Randy T.
