Hello!
I own a Gigabyte G5 KF 2023 laptop with RTX4060 and i5-12500h. Yes, I know those laptops are known for their terrible temperatures, but that was partially resolved (at least GPU side.)
The problem right now is that 2 (out of 4) P-cores are running way hotter than the rest, even when laptop is idle and on cooling pad. I'm running the newest BIOS available at this time, windows is updated, thermal paste is applied correctly. Furthermore while the CPU is under load, it is maxing at 88*C now, but thermal limit is being applied, as those 2 pesky P-cores are sitting at 99*C. This is at 35W limit for Turbo Boost Power Max and Turbo Boost Short Power Max disabled in Intel XTU.

Hello BartC,
Thank you for letting us know. I want to let you know that the reason for this is because the processor usage depends on the applications used in the system. When the processor usage is high, the temperature of the processor also rises. The good thing is Intel® Processors have built-in thermal protection. If the processor gets too hot, the built-in protection slows down (throttling) and eventually shuts down the processor. Although the CPU max temperature is 100°C,since this is a laptop, it would be best to contact Gigabyte to understand the system’s normal operating temperature range and to report unexpected behavior of the system. The reason for this is because Original Equipment Manufacturer might have altered or did some customizations and configurations that we are not familiar of.
