Intel graphics drivers with Blue Iris

I use Blue Iris (security recording software) and after a while the CPU usage goes up with the latest Intel drivers. When rolling back to a specific older version of the driver, it works fine.

This is a known issue in the Blue Iris community and the solution is to roll back to an older driver version from 4/17. Please see this thread: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/cpu-usage-creeping-up-slowly.22329/# post-213490 CPU usage creeping up slowly | IP Cam Talk

How can I get this bug fixed in the latest releases? Thanks.

jseng: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® Processors communities. We will do our best to provide the information you are looking for.

In this case, in order to try to find a possible solution, we will do further research on this matter, for us to be able to do that, please provide the SSU report:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" in the top right corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear in the bottom right corner of the response box.

Also, please provide the driver version that works and the one that does not.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

The driver file I am using is win64_154518.4664.zip. Here is a summary from another Blue Iris user:

Does not work:

  • 22.20.16.4729
  • 22.20.16.4771
  • 21.20.16.4678

Solution:

Works:
  • 21.20.16.4664

The 21.20.16.4664 driver is included in the [15.45] release package and has to be installed from the win_154518.4664. zip package dated 9/16/2017.

I have the SSU text file generated. Is there a way to send it to you directly without posting to the forum?

With the .4877 driver, CPU and RAM usage steadily increase.

jseng: I just received an update on this matter, after performing several labs we determine that:

1. Blue Iris is not fully optimized for Windows® 10 (unless the users uses an independent graphics card) and it consumes almost all the resources available from the CPU, however it does not consume a lot of memory, meaning that the CPU will do all the tasks (that's the specific reason why it consumes a 100% of CPU usage).

2. Blue Iris works smoothly on Windows® 7 and a NUC5i7RYH (as well with a NUC7i7BNH) due to the fact that it "divides" the workload between the CPU and the RAM memory, so the processor is not always in charge of performing all the tasks.

3. At this point we suggest to try different software.

Any questions, please let me know.

Sorry but this is NOT true at all! How about we get someone to help that actually knows what they are talking about??? For the amount of money your customers spend on Intel I believe that we deserve an honest answer when an issue is brought to your attention.

Blue Iris as well as many other apps utilize Intel Quick Sync. Every heard of it? Intel® Quick Sync Video uses the dedicated media processing capabilities of Intel® Graphics Technology to decode and encode fast, enabling the processor to complete other tasks and improving system responsiveness. Blue Iris does NOT rely on the ram for encoding and decoding.

This thread was started due to a leak in the Intel graphics driver and instead of addressing the issue you chose to deflect and post BS.

Did you even bother reading the threads posted above? Here is another one for you. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/bi-not-fully-optimized-for-windows-10-per-intel.25061/ BI Not fully optimized for Windows 10 per Intel | IP Cam Talk
