My intel i7 - 6700hq processor has a cpu speed of 2.28 Ghz and will not move. it is supposed to have a base cpu speed of 2.6 and it is lower than that. It can Turbo to 3.5 GHz and it never has been that high.I cant even play any games with good fps, the first couple of mins it is fine and then it would start to lag. I would really appreciate the help because I am getting real frustrated with this.
99 times out of 100, this is the result of a limitation imposed by the board - typically as a result of the BIOS configuration. I suggest you start there. If you cannot find the issue, call the tech support provided by the board manufacturer.
So what should I do in the BIOS? I have already looked for settings that could help but there is no settings related to the CPU. No turbo settings or CPU.
