Just assembled a new PC with an Intel Core i7-14700K - Core i7 CPU. When I power it up the boot doesn't start. Power is going to the motherboard (other components power up). Is this an indication that the CPU is bad?

" Is this an indication that the CPU is bad?"
Or, an indication of a poorly assembled PC or bad motherboard or bad power supply. Kind of early to dump on the processor.
Do you know that the processor is supported by the board's bios? Is the board's bios updated? No shorts?
Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]
