Issue with 11th gen i5 and midi controllers - new Thread

I am struggling with an issue with my HP Envy X360 Convertible 15-ed1xxx and my midi controllers.

If I attach the midi key controllers via USB A it seems to be fine: within the device manager the controllers (in this case a Presonus faderport 8 and a Pioneer DDJ SX controller) are displayed properly. But the standard programms for this kind of controllers (Ableton live and Serato DJ) doesn't receive midi signals. According HP and pioneer support it is a known issue of intels i5 11th gen that it cannot handle midi signals. All latest firmware and updates are installed to get sure that it's not an issue caused by outdated software.

cmx81, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In reference to this scenario, just to let you know, there is no official information from Intel® reporting a known issue of Intel®'s i5 11th gen Processors stating that it cannot handle midi signals.

So, in this case, the best thing to do will be to get in contact directly with HP for them to provide further assistance on this matter and additional details about their platform in regard to midi signals:

Dear Albert,
Thank you very much for your answer.
I had already contact with HP Support (I get automatically connected with Support Agents in germany where I am located) and together we have checked a lot of possible reasons. (Including Bios Updates, New drivers, Reinstalled Programms, ckeck of connections, ...)

They told me I have to contact intel Support because they are not able to fix that issue caused by incompatible Intel devices. Same answer that I got from presonus and pioneer.
For me it seems that everyone knows about this issue exept intel.
As soon as I contact HP support again I anticipate that I would get the same answer.

Please unterstand that I have invested a lot of money, and in meanwhile a lot of time to fix this issue or at least identify the root cause, thus if we cannot find a solution soon I will be forced to sell this Laptop and buy one from a competitor which products are able to do such standard stuff like handle midi Signals.

Hi cmx81, You are very welcome, thank you very much for providing that information.

In that case, if HP determined that "they are not able to fix that issue caused by incompatible Intel devices", then, once you reported the issue to them, they should be able to get in contact with Intel® directly to also report this problem and to work internally on this matter to try to find a possible solution for this scenario as soon as possible.

And I would add that HP complaining about something has a lot higher priority that any individual complaining has.

Hi together,

I have the problem, to connect my Intel i7 11th gen with PartyMix and Serato.

Everything is up to date, all the drivers and BIOS.

Is there a solution in sight or know someone something?

I've tried everything, unfortunately without success.

I bought the PartyMIX II and now it's running without any issues.
