Kabylake mobile recommended customer Price

I noticed that the core i5-7300HQ processor has a relatively low recommended customer price (250 $), as noted at https://ark.intel.com/products/97456/ Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz) Product Specifications

Other mobile processors in this generation have a higher price, even when they provide fewer features (cores, frequency, ...). For instance the i5-7300U which has only two cores is at 281 $ https://ark.intel.com/products/97472 Intel® Core™ i5-7300U Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz) Product Specifications

Can someone explain this price difference?

You can see a comparison of the features of the two via this link: https://ark.intel.com/compare/97472,97456 Intel® Product Specification Comparison.

The primary reasons why the i5-7300U costs more, IMHO, is because (a) it is designed for and targeted towards embedded/industrial usage models, (b) it has support for vPro technology and (c) it is part of SIPP.

Ok, this specific usage model makes sense, but how about the i7-7500u (this one doesn't report a spesific usage model) vs i5-7300HQ ? https://ark.intel.com/compare/95451,97456 Intel® Product Specification Comparison

While the first has 0,2 GHz higher base frequency and hyper threading, the second one has double the cores, more max memory and performs better at benchmarks. Yet there is a huge price difference. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the i5-7300HQ is a bit more recent, but then again it is found in more decent laptop that are equipped with discrete graphic cards and require more power as they are targeted for gaming.

Yea, this one makes less sense. The fact that it is targeted at the embedded market is not enough to explain this discrepancy. The time factor probably plays a big part in this...
