Looking for a system to run 6 GPU's

I'm having a hard time trying to figure this out. I'm running a rendering software that requires 8x PCIe lanes pers card and I'm looking at a lot of 6 GPU's to build a system with. At 6 cards running 8x pcie lanes each = 48 pcie lanes total.

As far as I understand the only ,motherboards on the market that have that kind of support are CEB x99 and x299 boards.

I know there are processors that have 48 lanes such as the Xeon W LGA 2066 chips, but I'm unsure how the lanes get allocated and I doubt they run all 48 to graphics.

Would I have to go with a dual processor system? Not sure where to begin to figure out a budget friendly solution.

RYee0, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support. In reference to your question, in the following link you will be able to verify the specifications of all the Intel® processors: https://ark.intel.com/ Including the Intel® Xeon® W Processors: https://ark.intel.com/products/series/125035/Intel-Xeon-W-Processor#@Intel-Xeon-W-Processor For this specific scenario, we recommend to get in contact directly with any of the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer), because the best thing to do is to make sure that the motherboard is capable of doing what you are looking for, once you confirm that information then you can verify which processors are compatible with it. Just to let you know, most likely you will need a high end work station or a server board to set the configuration that you need: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html Regards, Alberto R.
