M2IOSF Abbreviation (3rd Gen Xeons)

Hi,

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/develop/public/us/en/documents/perf-anlzs-top-down-topology-aware-io-performance-analysis-with-intel-vtune-profiler.pdf mentions M2IOSF units and says these are the same as Integrated I/O controllers. However, from what I've found, M2IOSF stands for "Intel On-Chip System Fabric" in that context it doesn't make sense.

Could you please clarify what M2IOSF stands for?

Best regards

Benedict

Hello bschlueter,

Thank you so much for your patience.

According to our end, the abbreviation M2IOSF means: Mesh to Intel On-Chip System Fabric.

You can refer to the document attached (Page 2). Let me know if you need anything else.

Best regards,
