MBO

Hi there, I am a newbie to the tech world and need assistance from a guru to carry out the following:

I'm looking to upgrade my MBO but still use my i5 -2400 CPU @ 3.10 /3.30GHz - with 1555 . The current MBO is a Gigabyte GA-Z68-AP-D3.

I am unable to install a SSD (Samsung: V NAND 970EVO Plus NVMe M.2) and use it as my prime boot for Windows as the MBO does not recognise the SSD. I have tried to update the BIOS but there is no way I am unable to do this as the MBO is too old!

My solution therefore is to upgrade the MBO to a compatible MBO which will let me install the SSD and run windows 7 Home Premium until I upgrade the system in future.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

CK.

Your board  and processor are from 2011.   It makes no sense to stay with this processor on a new/newer board.

Save your money, and invest in a new/new system that supports an 8th gen or later processor.
