Microcode update questions

With the Intel microcode update for 13th and 14th gen processors, how much performance are we likely to lose? I am beyonf annoyed as I just bought a new PC 2 months ago with a 14900k. I honestly feel scammed by Intel. If I have issues it's going to be a headache to deal with because I assume my processor is an unboxed chip. Which means I need to deal with sending my PC or processor to England from Scotland. Such a headache!

Hello TommyW88

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand how frustrating it can be to face potential performance issues, especially after investing in a new PC so recently.

Performance testing by Intel indicates minimal performance impact due to microcode patch 0x129. Benchmarks measured by Intel are within run-to-run variation, with some sub-tests showing moderate impacts. However, system performance is dependent on configuration and several other factors.

If you have further questions, please feel free to let us know so we can assist you promptly.

We look forward to your response!

Maybe whatever is lost in performance may be fully recouped by a slight CPU under-volt to ensure the cores are running cooler for their rated speeds?
