Hi,
I want to report a problem that I've experienced these past few days. So I usually use my PC to play Video Games such as Marvel Rivals, Delta force, and a lot other multiplayer games. Recently, a lot of these game developers told me that there are some sort of memory leak issue and gave guidance to how to minimize this issue regarding the processors. One of the suggestions they gave is to adjust/manual clock the CPU through Intel XTU software. I tried installing XTU 7.14.2.14 for my processor (I7 - 14700k) But whenever I installed and restarted my pc, the software always stuck on the splash screen, I tried to look fix online but it seems I can't find fix that can help me.
This is my PC specs :
MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4
I7 - 14700k
RX 6800 XT
32 Gigs of ram
And here I attached the log files that I found on XTU folders, hope this help!

Hello xeroxleft,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
For better understanding and proper isolation of the issue, please also help share the details below:
1) Please confirm if this is the exact system model you have: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B760M-A-WIFI-DDR4.
2) If so, please check and confirm if the system has the latest BIOS version (7D99v1D)? If not, contact your system manufacturer support team to get assistance on updating to the latest microcode, and applying the Intel Default settings.
Once confirmed the above steps, you may proceed with the steps mentioned on this link below.
How to Uninstall the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU).
I will wait for your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hi,
I did flash my bios, and update it to the newest version available on MSI product page. But the problem still exist, Im still stuck on the splash screen and the program won't open for some reason. I also did uninstall as you suggest, then reinstall it back but it feels like it doesn't fix anything.

Hello xeroxleft,
Kindly help share the link for the game developers that you interacted regarding the potential game related memory leak so we can also address their findings.
Please be informed that we are still currently working to re-create the issue with the XTU. I will provide an update once available.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hello xeroxleft,
I have checked all the information you shared. The links you previously provided were the game links, not the links that show that the games you mentioned have memory leaks. It is important to get the link where you saw that the games exhibit memory leaks so Intel can further assess and address the statement of the game developers regarding this issue.
Regarding the Intel XTU being stuck at the splash screen, based on your initial post, you are using MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4 which only support memory overclocking via Intel XMP. Since the motherboard is not compatible with processor overclocking, the use of Intel XTU is not guaranteed to work correctly.
Can you use Z series motherboard instead? We are suggesting using this motherboard since it allows processor overclocking - and where you may use Intel XTU.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hello xeroxleft,
I haven't received a response from you yet. Since there are two issues discussed in this thread, I suggest creating a new thread specifically for the memory leak issue you reported. Please include links that demonstrate the memory leaks in the games you mentioned, as the previous links were just game links and not the ones we requested. It's crucial to provide the link where you observed the memory leaks so that Intel can further evaluate and address the game developers' statements regarding this issue.
Let's keep the other issue in this thread, which concerns the Intel XTU being stuck at the splash screen. Since your motherboard is the MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4, which only supports memory overclocking via Intel XMP and is not compatible with processor overclocking, the use of Intel XTU may not function correctly. Could you consider using a Z series motherboard instead? We recommend this motherboard as it supports processor overclocking, allowing you to use Intel XTU effectively.
Additional Information
- The MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard supports memory overclocking via Intel XMP but does not support processor overclocking. Therefore, using Intel XTU on this motherboard may not yield the expected results.
- A Z series motherboard is recommended for processor overclocking, which would allow the use of Intel XTU for tuning and optimization.
If you need further assistance or have any questions, feel free to ask.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.
