My PC's CPU is a Core i5-6600 but I'm receiving a notification from the Intel Driver and Support program saying that there is a 7th+ generation CPU driver upgrade. What can I do to solve this?

Download, run, and save the results of this utility as a text file:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Then ATTACH the text file (using the paperclip under the toolbar).

What "CPU Driver Update"? Are you talking about the Intel HD Graphics driver package? It is also for 6th gen processors; it is not limited to 7th gen and newer.

Your response was lost in the forum changeover. It was:

No, the name of the update is "Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) user interface and driver for Intel® 7th generation and latest platform".

Ah. That's a chipset (PCH) device/feature, not CPU. Regardless, I believe that it can still be used with your system. Is the update failing?

This update is not appearing anymore, thankfully. But when I tried to download and install it, an error message would pop up saying that my system is not compatible.
