Hello, recently i noticed my pc working very slow, after taking cpu-z test it shows its running core speed only 800hz- the multiplier is 8 and i cant change it in bios...
MSI Z170A gaming M5
corsair veangeance 8gb
radeon r9 390
samsung evo850 ssd
any one have same issue?

Hi Denisnord ,
Your CPU when is idle has multiplier 8x and when is in load it goes up to XX depends what CPU you have

If you run an application, and keep CPU-Z on, the multiplier stays all time at 8x ?

yes, this is how i noticed its too slow, im playing league of legends and i had over 600fps before and now its barely 120 with droping to 30 in teamfight....

Go in control panel at power options and set it on High performance. You can manually set in advance power settings CPU power state and if you put on max 5% then CPU will stay all time on 8x ...

Check if the slow mode booting switch is in the on position. Should be at the bottom of the motherboard, marked SLOW_1 it's meant for liquid nitrogen cooling which locks onto the lowest multiplier.
