NUC replacing processor to run Windows 11

Hi forum,

I still have an Intel NUC (productcode BOXNUC 7i7BNH) runnning Windows 10 and I found out that the processor (Intel Core i7-7567U) is not suited to run Windows 11. My question of course is if there's an easy way to replace this processor with a processor that can run Windows 11 and is there anybody out there that has successfully carried out such a replacement?

Thanks in advance for your tips & tricks

Kind regards,

Erik

Hello Leon,

Thanks for the swift reply. Although I didn't find the time yet to execute the procedure, I'm very happy with the fact there is at least a possibility available to upgrade my NUC to Windows 11. Once I've executed the procedure I will of course let you know the result.

Kindest regards,

Erik

You can't upgrade soldered down processor on NUC board. You may still run Windows 11 on your NUC. Use Rufus to install Windows 11 on your computer. See the video clip Install Windows 11 on Unsupported Hardware.

If you want upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 without affecting your data or applications (instead of clean Windows 11 installation), use "An in Place upgrade" (as explained in this video clip last part ( from 9:20 and forward). Probably the same method will be required for update from version 23H2 to 24H2.
