I have a HP laptop (dv7-2260) with an Intel core 2 duo P7450. This one does not support virtualization function. Is it possible to replace it with an Intel core 2 Quad like Q9000 ?

Hello,
Regarding the cpu, it does support VT.
http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=40480
Now regarding whether the board supports VT, it is difficult to give an answer on behalf of HP.
As the chipset may support it, but i wont know whether the bios has support for VT.
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.

Thank you for your answer. I had contact with HP who's answer explained that my computer was hasn't been tested with the Q9000. Nothing told about the support of VT.
Regards
