Hello hcava1, Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities. I can see that you have changed hardware in the system after the electrical problem. First, keep in mind that when you change hardware it is recommended to do a re-installation of the operating system and re-install drivers to avoid any conflict with drivers and the new hardware. Now, regarding the change of thermal paste. It is only required if you change the processor or the fan, you can check more information in the link below: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005576/processors.html To address this situation, make sure that all of the connections have been done properly, make sure that there is enough ventilation in the case and check for possible BIOS updates for your motherboard. To check the processor you can run the Intel ® Processor Diagnostic Tool, you can find it in the link below: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool Regards, David V Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation
