Overheating reduces performance?

Recently a technician handed me my computer, and only after one day of use did I realize that the processor was without thermal paste and was at 100 C °. After a few days, I realized that the computer was performing poorly in the same game I always played. I wonder if Overheating may have damaged / reduced processor performance. My processor is a I5 4440.

Hi,

Yes, a processor that has overheated can cause this type of problems.

Were you able to apply thermal material?

Sometimes you can get bios misreading temperatures and you need to update the computer BIOS from the board maker.

Please follow some instructions available at this article http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000005776.html Troubleshooting Overheating Issues

Were you able to apply more thermal material or follow instructions for overheating issues?
