PCIE Lanes

I Built a new system for many uses I.E. Development ,Video Editing etc..

Used a 8th Gen I7-8700k And Motherboard with the 370 Chipset Plus 2 GTX 1080 TI Video cards

Besides a few SSDs I also installed a M2 NVME drive and other goodies, Now I learn there is ONLY 16 PCIE Lanes

on this I7-8700k 8th gen Chip. Just one pf the two GTX cards takes up 16 Lanes and I have 2 of them Plus the M2 NVME drive uses 4 Lanes. Just these devices alone add up to

16 x 2 = 32 + 4 = 36 Lanes. Another vendor had a CPU with over 40 Lanes. Why ONLY 16 on this CPU that costs more and with Optane and NVME and video cards I am way over the amount of Lanes. One guy said my Video cards will drop to 8 each then to 6 Lanes with the NVME drive and even more with the other Goofies.

Is intel going to increase the Lanes or do I need to sell this thing and get another CPU gtom another Vendor????

Indeed, the Intel® Core™ i7-8700K has x16 PCIe lanes (Processor's https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/processors/core/8th-gen-core-family-datasheet-vol-1.html datasheet, page 29, 2.2.1 section) but, in order to check how the resources are distributed, I recommend you to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of your motherboard so they can let you know how is this managed on your system. Then, the number of lanes that the processor has cannot be modified since this is how it was designed.Please keep in mind that in https://ark.intel.com/ ark.intel.com you can check the recommended/reference prize for the processor and you can compare it with your vendors.
