Pairing/Matching Requirements for Xeon Processors?

What are the pairing/matching requirements for Xeon x5680 processors? I read that the stepping number should be the same on both units, but the post was referring to an older "e series" Xeon processor. I also read that for the x5670 I could use any x5670. Does anybody know if this is correct and if so, does that apply to all "x series" Xeon processors? Specifically, the x5680? This is being installed in a HP Z800 Workstation with a 0AECH motherboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
