Had a chat with an agent: the chat looked like this:
`Ask Intel: Hi I'm Andre
Please give me a moment to read your chat transcript.
Customer: Hello andre
Ask Intel: Hi Mike, how may I assist you with your Intel Pentium 4 processor?
Customer: I am wondering just out of curiosity if I could get a replacement sticker for a Pentium 4 processor to go onto my retro pc
Ask Intel: I see, before we proceed further, may I check with you if I have your correct personal details, please?
Full Name: Mike (kindly provide last name)
Email: email@adresss.com
Furthermore, may we also request your contact or phone number in case we disconnect suddenly from this chat session? This will also be used for case creation and documentation purposes.
Customer: Well full name is Micheal D(rest of last name) (I usually don't willy nilly give my full name away)
Customer: And my phone number is Pho-neN-umbr (please over text, for whatever reason my service providers nearest tower is Misconfigured)
Ask Intel: Of course, definitely understood. Thanks for providing those.
Ask Intel: Going back, may I have the exact model of your Pentium 4 processor, please?
Customer: I would have to power on my retro pc; that would take awhile
Customer: TL;DR it's definitely out of support anyways
Ask Intel: Yes, since most Pentium 4 processors are usually at the end of interactive support status, but it's good to verify this at least. But, you may consult our Intel communities though, Michael. Our community does answer to concerns with products that belong to the EOIS category.
Customer: I can tell you the computer model number and brand is a: sony vaio pcv-7752
Ask Intel: Alright, allow me 5 minutes to check this model, please.
Customer: Wish you the best of luck, I can barely find info on it myself
Customer: I don't currently have it set up either
Customer: So I couldn't power it on for it's cpu info
Ask Intel: I'll gladly take that.
Ask Intel: I see.
Customer: Most I could find from my YouTube video on it would probably be the Frequency
Customer: Maybe not even
Ask Intel: Oh, and do we have any clues on the sticker on the system perhaps?
Customer: A Pentium 4, It has no sticker on it
Customer: (the case(
Customer: *)
Ask Intel: Alrighty, on that, can you allow me 8 more minutes to check on the model? (fingers crossed)
Customer: Within that 8 minutes I will see if I can find cables and such to kick it over; see what it says
Ask Intel: That will be much appreciated, thanks.
Ask Intel: Oh, I have found the model, Michael. And it turned out, that it is the very same model but just with added specification, on our database, it is listed as Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 2.00 GHz, 512K Cache, 400 MHz FSB.
Customer: Looks to be a 2.3ghz actually (2300mhz)
Customer: Imma boot into windows XP for more information
Ask Intel: Unfortunately Michael, as we have suspected, the product is already in the End of Interactive Support state, which means that all support for the product has been terminated. Again, my sincerest apologies since our only option to move forward is through Intel communities.
Customer: It says via msinfo32 'x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~2018Mhz'
Customer: I doubted I could get a replacement sticker for it, but you never know until you ask if you can...
Ask Intel: Well, in most active processors, Michael, there is a way to request for a replacement sticker for the unit, on the very least. The same with you, I think that it's worth a shot for you to post it to our communities as well so that our members can further share their same request but for inactive processors.
Ask Intel: In a way, this is just a step further to check if your request is possible, correct? Here's the link to our Intel processor's community:
Ask Intel: https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/bd-p/processors
Customer: Kind of out of Curiosity
Ask Intel: And here's the guide on how you can post on our community:
Ask Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000092055/programs/resource-and-documentation-center.html
Ask Intel: Definitely, and that is valid enough.
Customer: Alright thanks for your time
Ask Intel: Appreciate your understanding, Michael, I am hopeful that our community can address this request too. You may receive an invitation to take a survey in a few days. We value your feedback and look forward to hearing about your support experience.
Ask Intel: Once again, thank you for reaching out to Intel Customer Support using our chat support service. Keep safe and all the best, Michael!
Customer: Alright thanks, you take care
Customer: End Chat`
So just wondering if at all possible just out of curiosity if I can get a replacement sticker for (one of) my Retro PC(s)
Thanks;
