Pentium N5000 Maximum Memory

The MSI Cubi N 8GL has a pentium N5000 processor. MSI and Intel specify a maximum of 8gb DDR4-2400 for this processor. I'm using 16gb of DDR4-3200 successfully but it expectedly runs at 2400Mhz. Is there a reason why Intel specifies only 8gb?

Hello faduck,

Thank you for posting on the Intel* Community.

Intel provides the specifications of the processor in stock settings, and with the tested limits for a proper function of the unit. Even if some users reported successfully run the Intel® Pentium® Silver N5000 Processor outside its specifications, this is not validated by Intel* and we do not recommend it.  Altering clock frequency, voltage, or use the processor outside the recommended may damage or reduce the useful life of the unit and other system components and may reduce system stability and performance.

Since you are using a highly customized system, the best is to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). They can confirm if the use of a higher memory will compromise the system performance or affect the warranty of your unit. In this case, Intel just provides the CPU in stock settings, and we do not have control over any customization that the equipment manufacturer has performed.
