Bonjour,

Hi CGuil6, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support. In reference to the quantity of cores showing in device manager, the Intel® Core™ i7-4770 processor supports Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology, which delivers two processing threads per physical core, so if the processor has 4 physical cores as your processor has, it will report 8 logical cores, that is normal: https://ark.intel.com/products/75122/Intel-Core-i7-4770-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3-90-GHz- Also, we can enter "Task Manager", select the "Performance" tab and then you will see there the physical and logical cores. About the error code 39, we recommend to install the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the motherboard, since those drivers was customized by them work with your specific platform. What is the complete model of the motherboard? We can always try to re-install the chipset and management engine drivers or even a BIOS update on the board. I found a site that suggests some steps to take in order to try to fix this problem: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-fix-code-39-errors-2623185 The content on the above site is not controlled by Intel.

Hi CGuil6, You are very welcome, thank you very much for sharing those details. In reference to your question, since the computer is working fine you can always keep the drivers that are currently installed in your system, Windows* sometimes does updates and that means that the drivers get updated as well. The driver that is being offered for installation might be a driver provided by Microsoft*, you can always try to install it, but as you mentioned, if the PC works fine without it there is no need to do that, we recommend to use the drivers provided by ASUS, please select Windows* 8.1 - 64 bit in the following link to get the drivers: https://www.asus.com/Tower-PCs/G10AC/HelpDesk_Download/ Additionally, you can always contact them to confirm if the proper drivers are installed on your platform and to verify if there might be newer drivers for you to install: https://www.asus.com/support/ Regards, Alberto R.
