So i do have an old laptop and i want to upgrade RAM memory. Laptop's Motherboard is Plcsf8 type 2 that stock is a ddr3 4gb 1600mhz. My question is, if I buy a one slot 8gb ram 1600mhz will total 12 gb (4gb+8gb) does my board recognize that amount or it is limited to a maximum of 8gb?

The board should certainly recognize the memory, but this isn't the whole story. If you have two closely matched memory devices - in your case by installing a 4GB DDR3-1600 SODIMM - the memory will be able to operate in dual-channel interleaved mode and maximize memory throughput. Installing a different sized SODIMM and the memory will only be able to operate in single-channel mode, literally half the speed.
It's really your choice, best performance but less memory, or standard performance but more memory. There are times where having more memory provides a performance advantage at the Operating System level.
Hope this helps,
