Good day everyone,
I'm new to this platform hoping I'd get answers to boost my computer speed. I have an HP Laptop 15s-fq5158TU (86J70PA) Intel® Core™ i3-1215U that runs at base 1.20 GHz (up to 4.4 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 10 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 8 threads) but this laptop runs really really slow and takes time to load up some apps every time I open it such as Google Chrome browser or even the Start Menu. Every time I check the task manager to check the CPU Speed, it only goes from 0.50GHz-1.00GHz even lower sometimes not even reaching the base clock speed of 1.20GHz at idle meaning no apps opened etc. I have another laptop which is an MSI Modern 14 that has Intel Core i3 11th gen that has 3.8GHz with Intel Turbo Boost but this one runs faster even running at 4.0+ GHz at idle (Which I can tell the difference whether I do run both of them at the same time physically or thru task manager) than this HP Laptop that I have. Is there some kind of the issue about the model or did I bought a factory defect device? Or anyone experiencing the same kind of issue? I never thought that this HP laptop runs really slow given that it has base speed of 1.20Ghz which my laptop is having hard time to acquire even at idle and does not even trigger the intel boost that could reach to 4.4GHz. Never ever saw my laptop perform it even without apps running, well it does not make sense either sense the MSI 14 that I have runs with apps but still goes up to 4.0GHz+ even though it's capacity is up until 3.8GHz only with Intel Boost.

There are multiple possibilities here, all potentially affected by BIOS configuration. I first suggest that you go into BIOS Setup and set the BIOS Configuration to its defaults. If this doesn't help, then you need to be looking at whether some form of throttling is occurring. Throttling can happen if (amongst other things) temperatures or power draw is too high. In this case, first run an application, like AIDA64 or HWiNFO64, that will display the system temperatures. If temperatures are not too high (i.e., staying well below 100c), then next check the processor operation using the Intel Processor Identification Utility. If this succeeds, you could run an app like ThrottleStop to see what the throttling causes are.
That's enough to start. Let us know the results...

Hello Sir,
Thank you so much for helping me out. And I apologize, was late in replying back to you about the update.
I did tried to configure BIOS to default and it seemed like it was working a lot better than before. Loads up faster than when I first opened this from the box. Although I'm still not able to get that 4.4GHz with intel boost. Should I upgrade my RAM instead or any suggestion sir to make this new lappy faster?
